Have you ever wondered how to fill your garden beds, without breaking the bank?
You also may be a conscientious consumer and gardener who wants to avoid peat moss. Utilizing peat moss is problematic for several reasons since it cannot be harvested sustainably, and absorbs a transportation carbon footprint. In this class, one of our staff members, Katherine will be walking through various growing substrates that are inexpensive and peat free. There is no way to properly fill a garden bed, but she will be covering options that are naturally organic, easy to source, local and will aid in moisture retention in our dry climate. Katherine has a micro urban farm, and is interested in making gardening accessible to anyone and everyone. You will walk away with the choice between a couple products that will aid in your first season of growing in garden beds.
